Certification for Teachers & TrainersThe Barzak Educational Institute has offered certification in OptimaLearning to a select number of applicants since 1982. Three types of certification are currently available. The Certification in OptimaLearning culminates in a broad competency to lead or teach a range of OptimaLearning® programs. It is the longest and most intensive certification, usually about one year to complete. Certification in the Accelerative OptimaLearning in Art® (AOLIA) is a more targeted subset of Certification in OptimaLearning. This prepares candidates to lead programs using the specific concepts and technologies upon which the AOLIA programs are based. The certification is usually offered to individuals or groups who work with Art Museums in some capacity, either on staff or as docents. It can be tailored to the needs of a specific museum or exhibit. The third Certification is for Trainers of Trainers, and can only be earned after an individual has earned one of the previous certifications. Due to increasing international demand, many of the OptimaLearning training programs today are tailored to the professional needs and to the language competencies of individuals. All OptimaLearning certifications are competency based, not time based. Candidates must demonstrate application of their theoretical knowledge, their technical mastery of OL communication skills, effective planning and delivery of content, and their leadership/teaching abilities. Partial credit may be given for prior mastery of core competencies. The Certification in OptimaLearning requires short, intensive training at the headquarters of BEI working with OptimaLearning creator Ivan Barzakov, Ph.D., and the Institute staff. Stage two is a supervised internship anywhere in the world where OptimaLearning programs are offered. On average the comprehensive OptimaLearning certification can be earned within a year. The next class is scheduled to begin January 2007. Certifications must be renewed every five years. Tuition for the OptimaLearning Certification is US $6,000.00, payable in quarterly installments. Each year the Barzak Educational Institute Board of Directors offers one or two scholarships for this comprehensive program to outstanding prospects. Tuition for the other programs depend upon where, when, and how long candidates need training to reach required competencies. To discuss any of these certificate programs, contact either Dr. Barzakov or Pamela Rand, at the Barzak Educational Institute in Novato, CA, USA (see contact page).
